Former Camel shortstop Adam Wyse has joined the Campbell baseball coaching staff as Director of Offensive Development.

Wyse comes back to Buies Creek from Louisiana, where he spent the abbreviated 2020 season with the Ragin’ Cajuns as a graduate assistant.

“Having the opportunity to bring Coach Wyse back to our program is like welcoming a family member home after a long trip,” said head coach Justin Haire. “As a player he was a grinder, dirtbag-type of guy, and bringing that mentality to the staff will be another welcomed addition. He will be diving heavy into analyzing our offensive game plan, and strategizing ways for us to improve holistically from swing mechanics to offensive game-planning. We are very excited to have him ‘home’, and are looking forward to seeing how he helps grow our players and TEAM.”

Prior to Louisiana, Wyse was an assistant coach under current Campbell Director of Player Development Jordan Stampler at Pfeiffer from the fall of 2017 through the 2019 season.

In 2018, his first campaign with the Falcons, Wyse helped coach Pfeiffer to a 31-7 overall record, topping the conference in the regular season. Pfeiffer also set multiple school records in 2018, including team batting average at .348, team on-base percentage at .447 and overall winning percentage at .775.

In 2019, the Falcons captured the ECAC Division III title with a 9-7 win over Grove City College, finishing the year with a 30-8 mark.

A Nashville, Tenn. native, Wyse was a two-year starter at shortstop for the Camels under Haire in 2016 and 2017 after transferring from Dyersburg State Community College. Wyse played in 105 games over his two seasons in the Orange & Black, starting 103 contests with 78 hits, with eight going for extra-bases, adding a .369 on-base percentage.

Wyse, a 2017 Campbell graduate with a degree in criminal justice, will now pursue his master of business administration at CU.
