Ryan Kramer joined the baseball coaching staff in August 2024. He serves as the Director of Player Development.
“Ryan has had success both on the field as well as in the private sector,” head coach Chris Marx said. “His advanced knowledge of biomechanical evaluations and ball flight metrics will be a tremendous asset to our pitching staff, and his expertise in helping players acquire mental skills is an attribute that will be utilized by our entire team. Ryan is a great addition to ‘The Brotherhood’, and I look forward to welcoming him to the Creek.”
Kramer joins Campbell from Millersville University, where he was named the pitching coach prior to the 2021 season. He helped the Marauders to three PSAC East titles, a PSAC Championship in 2022 and an NCAA Atlantic Region Championship in 2023.
During his time at Millersville, Kramer developed three All-America starting pitchers. Last season, Alex Mykut ranked second nationally among Division II schools in ERA, and at least one pitcher won 10+ games in each of Kramer’s season as the pitching coach.
In 2023, Millersville set a program record for strikeouts and closed the season ranked second nationally in hits allowed per nine innings, fourth in WHIP and fifth in ERA. Starting pitcher Carson Kulina earned All-America recognition.
Prior to his time at Millersville, Kramer spent five seasons at Dickinson College as the pitching coach, third base coach and recruiting coordinator. He was part of the program’s three most winning seasons, and he coached more all-conference pitchers in his five years than in the rest of the team’s history.
Kramer led Dickinson to the top of their conference, as the team ranked top three in the Centennial Conference in ERA, WHIP, strikeouts and runs allowed in 2017 and 2019. The program also ranked top 50 nationally in ERA and WHIP those two seasons.
During the offseason, Kramer worked as the lead-remote trainer and on-floor trainer at Full-Reps Training Center, one of the premier arm-care facilities in the country. He also assisted in pitching technology and development.
Kramer was a four-year letter winner and two-time All-Centennial Conference honoree for Dickinson, as well as a two-time captain. During his senior season, he held a 1.61 ERA in 61.2 innings on way to a 5-2 record. He set a school record that season, holding opponents to a .188 average. Kramer has had the second-lowest ERA in school history, and he was top 50 nationally in ERA, WHIP and strikeouts.
Following graduation, Kramer continued his collegiate career at McGill University. He led McGill to a national championship, firing a complete-game shutout in the national semifinals, scattering three hits and striking out 13. Kramer was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher and was honored as the Canadian National Pitcher of the Year.
Kramer has also been active throughout his career with TEAM Impact and the Hydrocephalus Association. TEAM Impact is an organization that pairs children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses with collegiate athletic programs.
Kramer comes from an athletic family. His father played ice hockey at Hamilton College, while his younger brother played baseball at Lafayette, and his sister, a fellow Dickinson alumnus, was a forward on the field hockey team.
Kramer graduated from Dickinson College in 2014 with a degree in Psychology.
