Mike Ridings heads into his second season as an assistant coach at Campbell.
Ridings joined the Fighting Camel coaching staff in the spring of 2024, guiding the CU safeties. In addition to coaching Campbell’s safeties, Ridings also manages the Braxton Harris Football Camps.
Ridings came to Campbell after serving as defensive coordinator at Wabash College, improving the Little Giants’ defensive scoring by 10 points per game from 2022 to 2023, and coaching four All-NCAC players in 2022.
He was also the defensive coordinator at Keiser University for two seasons (2020-21), being named a finalist for the FootballScoop NAIA Coordinator of the Year in 2020, finishing in the nation’s top-10 in the NAIA in scoring defense, total defense, sacks, defensive third down conversions and passing defense.
The Seahawks advanced to the NAIA semifinals in 2020 and the quarterfinals in 2021 with the help of Ridings, while coaching NAIA All-American and Sun Division Defensive Player of the Year, Sage Chen-Young .
A 2019 AFCA Assistant Coach of the Year, Ridings coached at Marian University, contributing to three NAIA playoff appearances and a national runner-up finish in 2019. ?
He is an active member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and USA Football, serving as a speaker at the AFCA convention and contributor to various football-related publications and podcasts. Ridings also participated in the AFCA 35 Under 35 Leadership Institute and NFL-NCAA Coaches Academy. ?
Ridings completed his Bachelor of Science in Sport Marketing Management from Indiana University, and later completed a Master's in Sports Administration from Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky.
