Patrick Miller heads into his third season on Mike Minter's staff, and first as co-defensive coordinator.

Miller was promoted to safeties coach following the 2021 season, and elevated to co-defensive coordinator, switching to coaching linebackers prior to 2023.

With his assistance, the Camels have compiled back to back No. 1 freshman recruiting class in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (2021, 2022). He also coached Myles Rowser to a Freshman All-American season in 2022.

Miller previously served as a defensive quality control assistant for the Camels in 2021, helping Campbell rank fourth in the FCS in turnovers gained (25) and defensive touchdowns (4) at season's end, with a defense that fielded All-American defensive end and Big South Defensive Player of the Year Brevin Allen, All-Big South safety Darion Slade, and Freshman All-American CJ Tillman.

Miller’s recruiting areas include Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Charlotte, N.C., Columbia, S.C., Miami, Fla. and Orlando, Fla.

Prior to Campbell, Miller spent the 2020 season as a defensive analyst and assistant linebackers coach at Louisiana-Monroe, helping put together the Sun Belt’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class, and assisting in coaching all-conference performer Traveion Webster.

Miller got his start in coaching at Northampton Area High School in Northampton, Pa. in 2017 as the linebackers and wide receivers coach, also serving as varsity run game coordinator and JV defensive and special teams coordinator.

A year later, Miller entered the college ranks at his alma mater, NCAA Division III Alvernia University, where he coached linebackers in 2018 and the defensive line in 2019, adding JV defensive and special teams coordinator duties during both seasons for the Golden Wolves.

The Allentown, Pa. native lettered as a linebacker at Juniata College and Alvernia University during his college career, becoming a two-time academic all-conference performer and an academic athlete of the year finalist, serving as a team captain as a senior at Alvernia.

He graduated summa cum laude from Alvernia in 2017 with a duel bachelors of arts degree in political science and economics and a minor in business management. The political science valedictorian was a seven time dean’s list honoree.
