Tyler Scott

Tyler Scott was named Campbell’s running backs coach in January 2024.
 
Arriving at Campbell from North Carolina under head coach Mack Brown, Scott joined the Carolina staff in June of 2022 as an offensive graduate assistant before transitioning to a quality control role for the 2023 season. Scott began his coaching career at the high school level in Texas before reuniting with his former college offensive coordinator Phil Longo in Chapel Hill.
 
While coaching in high school, Scott produced seven all-district players and led his wide-receiver group to over 3,500 yards receiving and 35 TDs in three years. He served as a mentor in the school’s mentor programs showing his dedication to building young leaders.
 
Scott played at Sam Houston State University from 2014-18 in one of the most proficient offenses in FCS history. He played in 49 career games, making 37 starts. He began his collegiate journey as a walk-on his freshman year before being awarded an athletic scholarship his sophomore season. Scott posted 104 receptions for 1,119 yards and seven TDs with single-game highs of eight receptions and 130 yards.
 
A team captain, Scott was a member of the team’s Leadership Council and was a member of the Freshman Leadership Program on campus separate from the football team. He was also selected to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
 
Scott graduated with a degree in kinesiology in 2017, followed by a master’s in sports management in 2019.
