2007-08: Redshirted to retain his year of eligibility...part of the 2007 recruiting class... had four tackles and a sack in the inaugural Orange-Black game.

 

Prep: A three-year varsity football letterwinner at Clinton High School...two-time All-Conference selection his junior and senior years playing tight end, defensive tackle and defensive end...helped the Dark Horses to the 2A State Championship his junior year and the 2A State Championship Game his senior year...also lettered in basketball, baseball and tennis (All-Conference).

 

Personal: Full name is John Thomas Cox...son of Dianne and Steven Cox ... born 1/13/89 in Fayetteville, N.C. ...has one older sister, Stephanie ...majoring in physical education.
