Ander Galfsky is in his third season at Campbell and second as Director of Basketball Operations. He was promoted to his current position in June 2017 after serving one year as assistant director. In his role as Director of Operations, Galfsky is in charge of internal scheduling, serves as liaison to the compliance office, oversees team managers, and handles equipment orders and ticket requests. He also is Director of Campbell Basketball Camps, while also handling budgeting, statistical and analytics analysis, official and unofficial visits, while assisting on team scouting.
In his first two seasons, Galfsky has played a vital role in a program that has made back-to-back post-season appearances and has won 37 games - the most in consecutive years in Campbell’s Division I era. The Camels advanced to the 2017 Big South Championship game, then reached the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com post-season tournament. In 2018, Campbell advanced to the semifinal round of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).
In his first year in Buies Creek, Galfsky handled travel logistics, film exchange, video analysis of games and practices, as well as assisting with the organization of Campbell’s basketball camps, alumni events, on-campus official visits, plus statistical and analytics analysis.
A 2015 Birmingham-Southern graduate, Galfsky joined the Fighting Camel staff in May 2016 after serving the previous year as an athletics department graduate assistant at Auburn University.
While at Auburn in 2015-16, Galfsky attended all basketball practices and became proficient in performance analysis software programs such as SportsCode while assisting with recruiting databases. He also served as the department’s game/event manager for gymnastics and women’s tennis while assisting in game-day operations for football, volleyball, men’s tennis and softball. In addition, Galfsky worked with the Auburn football Lettermen Club while pursuing his master’s degree in adult education.
During his collegiate playing career at Birmingham-Southern, Galfsky helped lead the Panthers to a SCAC regular season championship and NCAA Division III national tournament berth in 2012.
As an undergraduate, Galfsky served as 15U and 16U assistant coach for the Nike/Adidas Southeast Elite AAU team in Birmingham. He also spent the summer of 2012 coaching the Lausanne Collegiate School JV team.
His coaching experience also includes camp counselor responsibilities at Birmingham-Southern, Lausanne Collegiate, the University of Mississippi and with the Memphis Grizzlies.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Galfsky was an all-state performer at Lausanne Collegiate, where he played for head coach Kenneth White, who is now an assistant coach at Campbell. Galfsky graduated with a B.A. in history from Birmingham-Southern.
He and his wife, Mary Katherine, were married in the summer of 2017.
