Omar Asad

Omar Asad enters his third year on staff ahead of the 2026 season. He was named an assistant coach in August 2024.

In 2025, the Camels won 10 games and had 11 players named to the postseason All-CAA teams. Campbell hosted and defeated UNCW, 4-0, in the first round of the CAA tournament, its first postseason win in the CAA. 

The 2024 squad posted an 8-6-4 record with five wins at home. Freshman Luc Lavielle was named to the CAA All-Rookie team, while Owen Mikoy was a second-team honoree and Daniel Osei-Tutu earned third-team recognition.

A Raleigh, N.C. native, Asad joins the Fighting Camels staff after spending the last seven seasons as head coach at Wake Tech Community College. During his time at Wake Tech, he helped lead the program to 28 wins including a Region X semifinal appearance in 2018.

A standout player at Athens Drive Magnet High School in Raleigh, Asad continued his playing career at NC State where he received his degree in business management in 2012.

Asad also serves as a coach with North Carolina FC, working with the U17 and U19 ECNL regional teams.
