Campbell women's basketball head coach Ronny Fisher has announced the addition of former player Shy Tuelle to the Fighting Camel staff as an assistant coach in September 2024.
"Shy has poured her heart and soul into our program for the past six years and we are blessed to welcome her as an assistant coach," Fisher stated. "Shy has been leading by example since she stepped on campus, she knows our system inside and out, and her loyalty to the program has been tremendous. Shy's playing career was defined by a passion to be the best in everything she encountered and I am confident with her ability to inspire that same desire in our players as a coach."
Tuelle wrapped up her sixth and final season as a player for the Fighting Camels in March of 2024. She finished her career eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,430 points while setting school records for 3-point field goals made in a season (80) and all-time (301).
"I am so excited to be back at Campbell and blessed beyond measures for this opportunity," said Tuelle. "I know I will be able to grow in many ways and expand my knowledge of the game working under Coach Fisher. This is such a special program with special people and players. Now it's time to get to work!"
The 2023-24 CAA women's basketball scholar-athlete of the year, Tuelle earned two undergraduate degrees in accounting and sport management in addition to her MBA.
Since arriving in Buies Creek in 2018, Tuelle helped lead the Camels to a 116-65 (.641) overall record and a 71-36 (.664) mark in conference play. Campbell also won two Big South regular season titles, was tournament runner-up three times and made the program's first appearance in the Women's NIT (2022).
