Henry Murray joined the Campbell University Strength & Conditioning Department in June 2022.
He works primarily with Wrestling, Women’s Lacrosse, and assists with Football. Coach Murray came to Campbell after serving as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Appalachian State University June 2019 - May 2022. During his time there, he worked with Softball, Track & Field, Men’s & Women’s Soccer, and Men’s and Women’s Golf.
Prior to his arrival at Appalachian State, Coach Murray also served as a Graduate Assistant at Grand View University from January 2018 – May 2019 in Des Moines, IA. In addition, he was a Volunteer Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at his alma mater, Dordt University from August 2015 – December 2017.
Coach Murray interned at Appalachian State University, Urbandale High School, and Dordt University.
He graduated from Dordt University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance and obtained his Masters in Sport Management from Grand View University in 2019. In 2022, Coach Murray graduated with a second master’s degree in Exercise Science: Strength & Conditioning from Appalachian State.
Currently, Coach Murray is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), a USAW-Level 1 Performance Coach, and Reflexive Performance Reset Level I & II (RPR). He and his wife, Catherine Lovallo, reside in Fayetteville, N.C. with their three dogs.
