RADFORD, VA. – Alexander Lee's one-out base hit brought around the winning run for Radford in the bottom of the 13th to sink Campbell 5-4, clinching the Big South series.

Radford moved to 20-17 overall and 10-8 in Big South play with the win, while Campbell falls to 26-14 on the year and 12-6 in conference games.

Campbell led 4-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth when Alexander Lee's three-run homer tied the game at 4-all.

The Camels left the bases loaded in the 12th and two on in the 13th, while Radford left the bases jammed in the ninth and the 11th as Campbell's Ryan Thompson pitched around the Highlander rallies.

Chris Coia was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. After an intentional walk put runners on first and second with one out, Lee sliced the 2-1 pitch down the line in right to bring home the winning run.

The extra inning contest was Campbell's fourth of the year. CU is 2-2 in extra frames this season.

James Woods (4-1) was credited with the win for Radford, striking out his only batter in the 13th.

RU starter Michael Boyle went 6 2/3, scattering three runs on eight hits and striking out five,

Michael Costello allowed a run on a hit in 1 1/3, fanning two, while Ryan Meisinger surrendered just four hits in 4 2/3, striking out three.

Campbell's Ryan Thompson (4-1) took the loss, pitching 5 1/3 in relief, striking out a career-high seven with three runs on five hits and six walks, three intentional. Lee's home run in the eighth snapped a 29 inning streak without an earned run for Thompson, who entered the series with the nation's lowest ERA.

Ryan Koopman allowed just a run on seven hits with four punchouts and a walk in his eighth start of the season, a day after earning the save in Campbell's 5-4 win Friday.

Bobby Thorson bridged the gap, allowing a run on two hits with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings.

Lee knocked in four for the Highlanders in the game, going 3-for-7. Patrick Marshall also went 3-for-4 with three walks, while Danny Hrbek recorded two hits, also scoring once.

John Reilly went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Camels, with Danny Pardo and Matt Parrish also adding two hits apiece.

Aaron Vogt went 2-for-2 with both hits coming in extra frames.

Matt Parrish put the Camels on the board in the first, knocking in Danny Pardo after Campbell led off the game with a pair of base hits.

The Highlanders evened it up in the third on a Chris Coia sacrifice fly after a leadoff triple from Danny Hrbek.

Pardo put the Camels back on top in the fifth, singling in John Reilly, who reached with a two-out double, to make it 2-1 CU.

Seth LaRue tacked on another for the Camels in the sixth, doubling off the wall in left-center to bring Parrish home.

Matt Nadolski's opposite field solo home run in the top of the eighth, his fourth of the season and second of the series, also blasting one on Friday night, gave Campbell a 4-1 lead.

Radford took the series opener Thursday, combining for nine runs in the fifth and sixth to defeat visiting Campbell 10-3. The Camels evened the series on Friday night, holding off a Radford rally in the bottom of the ninth to win 5-4.

The Camels will stay on the road for their next two games, heading to North Carolina State on Tuesday, April 22, and Virginia Tech Wednesday, April 23.
