BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell opened Friday's contest on a 19-0 run en route to a 94-42 victory over William Peace inside Gore Arena.
The Camels (1-1) had five in double figures for first time since Feb. 13, 2014, led by
Tatyana Carver's 15-point performance.
Taya Bolden posted a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Lauren McNamara-Clement (14 points),
Caroline Bowns (12 points) and
Summer Price (11 points) also reached double figures for Campbell.
Friday's 52-point margin of victory is the seventh highest at home in program history. It is third highest margin of victory inside Gore Arena, as Campbell outscored Barber-Scotia by 69 points on Nov. 10, 2012 and St. Andrews by 55 points on Nov. 11, 2016.
Carver paced the way with five 3-pointers and Bowns added four as Campbell knocked down a program-best 15 threes on 31 attempts. The previous record was set on Feb. 14, 2017 at Winthrop, when Campbell connected on 14 from beyond the arc.
Price knocked down a pair of treys in the opening 2:24 and tallied 11 first half points to lead Campbell to a 56-16 advantage at the half.
All six freshmen have now seen playing time this season, as
Julia Crocker made her collegiate debut in the second half. She knocked down a 3-pointer at the 5:24 of the fourth quarter on her first attempt from the floor.
Carver, McNamara-Clement and Bolden's double-digit efforts off the bench helped Campbell to 54 bench points, while William Peace had just two points from its bench.
Carver and
MaKala Rouse dished out seven and six assists, respectively, as CU posted 31 assists on 37 made baskets.
CU also grabbed 58 rebounds, the most since Dec. 19, 2016 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (59), out-rebounding William Peace (0-1) by 33.
Along with dominating the glass, the Camels held a 30-point scoring advantage in the paint, outscoring William Peace, 44-14.
Mikayla Ray led William Peace with a double-double outing, scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Whitney Walker posted a team-high 12 points and Deja Umstead contributed 11 to lead the Pacers offense.
Campbell has a quick turnaround as it hosts future conference opponent, USC Upstate, on Sunday at 2 p.m. inside Gore Arena.
