Camels host College of Charleston on Thursday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell faces College of Charleston for the second-straight year Thursday at Gore Arena in a 7 p.m. tip-off.

The Camels (1-0) are coming off a 63-37 win Friday at Western Carolina. After shooting just 33 percent from the floor in the season opening setback to Old Dominion, the Campbell offense rebounded to shoot 43 percent, including 9-of-20 (42.9 percent) from three.

Lauren McNamara-Clement was 5-for-5 from the floor, totaling 13 points. She finished one rebound shy of a double-double.

College of Charleston (2-0) defeated North Greenville and South Carolina State in the opening week of play. The Cougars put up 170 points over the two games, led by Deja Ford's 31 points (15.5 ppg).

Thursday's game will mark the 19th meeting between the Fighting Camels and Cougars in a series that dates back to the 1975-76 season. Campbell leads the all-time series, 11-7, which includes a 7-0 record at home.

The Camels claimed last season's meeting in Charleston, 53-45, thanks to Caroline Bowns' team-high 14 points, which included a 4-of-5 mark from beyond the arc. Taya Bolden grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
