Azem adds eight with 2019 class

Campbell head coach Samar Azem has added eight new players to her Fighting Camels squad with the addition of the 2019 recruiting class.

"I am excited to welcome this class to the creek in 2019. This class has the potential to make an impact right away.  We have a strong foundation built with our current team and adding this class in allows us to elevate our competitiveness and direction. They have the right mindset, they're competitive, athletic, and extremely driven and they're also great people," said Head Coach Samar Azem.

"Recruiting this class was a lot of fun. I am thankful first and foremost our players, who are always exceptional, as well as our admissions department, compliance office, professors, and our community for their impact.  Most specifically, I am thankful to our staff for the tireless work they've put into helping us recruit this class.
I can't wait to see this class join the Orange and Black in the creek in 2019."

"Delaney, and current senior defender Anna Brantley played for the same club coach so we knew she was coming from a strong background. She's an athletic, smart, and fearless defender.  The best defenders know when to tackle and when to negate space and she does both very well.  Delaney will earn her teammate's respect very quickly as she works tirelessly to succeed.  She is also comfortable with the ball at her feet and going forward - that gives us versatility systematically and in how we handle pressure.
