BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wide receiver
Caleb Snead has been named to the 2018 HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-American First Team.
A Lynchburg, Va. native, Snead posted 810 receiving yards and nine TD catches lead all FCS freshmen and rank second among all Big South receivers, and his 18.0 yards per catch was a league best. Snead's nine TDs tied a Big South freshman record, while his 810 yards, nine touchdowns and 45 receptions are all Campbell rookie records.
Snead was named
First Team All-Big South following his breakout rookie campaign, becoming the second Camel to be named first team all-conference as a freshman, joining former linebacker Milton Brown (2008, Pioneer Football League). He was also a finalist for the STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award, given to the FCS freshman of the year. The CU rookie was named Big South Freshman of the Week four times this season and was a two-time STATS Honorable Mention Freshman honoree.
Snead was one of two Big South student-athletes to make the list, joined by Kennesaw State return specialist Isaac Foster. Monmouth running back Juwon Farri, Gardner-Webb defensive lineman John Singleton, and Presbyterian linebacker Jarrett Nagy all picked up honorable mention nods.

This is the
second consecutive season a Camel has been named freshman All-American following quarterback
Daniel Smith's first team honors in 2017 (Phil Steele).
Snead was one of seven Camels to earn All-Big South honors in 2018. Campbell finished 2018 at 6-5 overall and 1-4 in its inaugural Big South season. With six wins, the Camels secured back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in the program's modern era (since 2008), and tied an overall program record for victories.
