AMES, Iowa / ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Campbell track & field wrapped up competition at the Iowa State Classic and Don Kirby Invitational on Saturday afternoon, with two athletes participating in each meet.
DISTANCE
Kelvin Kirui ran a season-best time of 4:11.84 in the mile at the Iowa State Classic to earn a 35th place finish. This time is less than a second off of his lifetime best of 4:11.08, which he set at the Big South Indoor Championships in 2017.
Roshae Jackson placed 23rd in the 800m after clocking in with a season-best time of 2:14.16 in Iowa. Jackson, who owns the school record in the indoor 800m, improved upon her season-opening time of 2:15.30 at the Camel City Invitational last weekend.
JUMPS
Sabina Allen followed up her school record performance in the long jump on Friday with a solid performance in the triple jump at the Don Kirby Invitational. She had a best mark of 13.01m to finish second, only behind Oregon's Chaquinn Cook.
Darius Prescott recorded a best mark of 14.04m in the triple jump in Albuquerque to earn an 18th place finish among all competitors.
