Camels end regular season Wednesday at Charlotte

Campbell has won four straight and has swept two of its last four

BUIES CREEK, N.C. ­- Campbell closes out the 2018 regular season as it travels to Charlotte Wednesday for a 2:00 p.m. start time.
 
Campbell (12-7, 6-2 Big South) has won four in a row and has swept in two of its last four wins.
 
Charlotte (8-11, 0-2 C-USA) has won three of its last four with its only loss coming from Big South conference member Winthrop.
 
Most recently Campbell downed conference foe UNC Asheville, 5-2. Campbell swept doubles action before Alexandra Nicoara clinched the match with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4 for her third consecutive singles win.
 
Lou Regen picked up her seventh consecutive singles win with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 3 where she has been a stronghold throughout the year. She sports a 12-4 mark at No. 3 where she ranks second in the Big South in both overall singles results and conference decisions only. Her overall record sits at 13-5 and she is 6-2 in conference play.
 
Georgina Segarra also notched her third win in a row and improved her record to 11-5 and 6-2 in conference play with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6 where she sports an 8-4 record on the year.
 
Ana Castillo and Georgina Segarra continued their success as a doubles pair at No. 2 with a 6-0 win for their fourth straight and to improve their record at No. 2 to 12-5. The pair also holds a 13-5 record and a 5-3 mark in conference play.
 
Lea Cutura and Lou Regen also won their fourth doubles appearance in a row with a 6-2 win at No 4. The duo holds a 9-7 record at No. 3 and a team best 6-2 mark in conference play.
 
Charlotte is coming off a 4-2 win at home against Davidson. The two teams did not compete in doubles action but Charlotte claimed four of the first five singles matchups for the win.

Rocio Safont has won four in a row and holds a 19-11 record after a clinching the match for the 49ers 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 over the Wildcats.
 
After Wednesday, Campbell will set its eyes on the Big South Conference tournament. Seeding for the Big South tournament will be announced either late Saturday or early Sunday. Follow Campbell Tennis on twitter for updates regarding the tournament.
