BUIES CREEK, N.C. –
Roshae Jackson and
Sabina Allen both set school records Saturday, leading Campbell.
Jackson edged her own school record in the 800 meters while competing in the Duke Invitational, turning in a time of 2:09.98, clipping her previous best of 2:09.99. She finished 13
th on the day. Jackson also posted a personal best 4:36.82 in the 1500 meters on Saturday.
Sabina Allen, meanwhile, broke a school record for the second straight day. After posting a school record 13.24 meter triple jump on Friday, the senior notched a 6.31 meter long jump for a new Campbell standard. She claimed the event title for both competitions at the Virginia Challenge.
Also at the Duke Invitational,
Michaela Louw took third in the women's 5000 meters with a time of 17:38.39, while
Lize Botha finished ninth with a personal best 18.06.20.
Carrie Baker also took fourth in the pole vault with a 3.60 meter mark.
In the men's pole vault,
Brett Parks finished fifth with a personal record 4.55 meter mark.
Also posting personal bests for the Campbell women at Duke were
Ali Bowen (5000m, 19:16.22),
Faith Lee (200m, 25.97; 400m, 59.85),
Nascha Blue (200m, 27.70; 400m, 1:03.15),
Kaelyn Yoder (800m, 2:25.37) and
Jade Baldwin (1500m, 5:09.06).
On the men's side at Duke,
Graeme Fisher (800m, 1:53.51),
Jacob Burgamy (800m, 1:56.85; 1500m, 4:00.62),
Travis Gallimore (800m, 1:57.84; 1500m, 4:08.83),
Billy Knabe (5000m, 15:59.92),
Marcus Mize (110mH, 16.82) and David Ward (hammer throw, 47.12m) all recorded personal bests.
At the USC Open, hosted by South Carolina,
Khai McLin highlighted Campbell's efforts, taking fifth in the men's 200 meters with a time of 20.98. McLin also posted a PR in the 100 meters with a 10.55, finishing 10
th on the day.
Curtis Carr (100m, 10.71; 200m, 22.17) and KaDeem Wynn (400m, 50.57) also notched personal records in Columbia, S.C.
Campbell will travel to the Liberty Twilight on May 2, followed by the Payton Jordan Invitational, hosted by Stanford, on May 3. The Big South Outdoor Championships begin May 9 in High Point, N.C.
