HIGH POINT, N.C. –
Shenelle McKay picked up her second silver of the week, leading Campbell on day two of the 2018 Big South Track & Field Championships, Thursday at High Point's Vert Stadium.
McKay turned in 1.68 meter women's high jump to finish second. The senior also took second in the long jump on Wednesday. Several Camels also qualified for Friday's finals appearances.
Khai Mclin posted the day's top qualifying time in the men's 100 meters with a time of 10.57. Teammate Curtis Carr also took third in the preliminaries with a personal best 10.64.
McLin also topped the 200 meter prelims with a 21.14 mark.
In the men's 800 meter prelims,
Kelvin Kirui took second with a season-best 1:51.97, while
Graeme Fisher qualified fifth with a personal best 1:53.49.
Trevon Compito also notched a PR in Thursday's preliminary round, posting a time of 48.83 in the men's 400 meters, good for fifth.
Roshae Jackson, meanwhile, was the runner-up in the women's 800 meter prelims with a 2:12.12 mark.
Sabina Allen also posted a personal best 11.94 in the preliminaries of the women's 100 meters, qualifying fourth.
Avonti Holt clocked in with a personal best 57.35 in the 400 meter preliminaries, finishing fifth.
Liberty remains in the lead in both the men's (101 points) and women's (118 points) team standings. Campbell's women's squad sits third with 41 points, while the men's team is fourth with 39 points.
