BUIES CREEK, N.C. –Annelie Sjoholm, Anna Svanka, Stacey White and Isabell Ekstrom of Campbell University are among the 1,011 student-athletes nationwide to be named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars for the 2017-18 season.

A native of Vasteras, Sweden and two-time Big South golfer of the year, Sjoholm graduated in May with a 3.613 grade-point average in business administration, while Svanka, a rising senior from Riga, Lavia, owns a 3.798 GPA in kinesiology. White, a rising junior from Brisbane, Australia, has a 3.775 GPA as a sport management major, and Ekstrom – the 2018 Big South freshman of the year from Uppsala, Sweden, owns a 3.71 GPA in business administration.

To earn All-America Scholar honors, an individual must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and must participate in at least 50 percent of an institution's rounds for the academic year.

Sjoholm is the first player in Campbell women's golf history to earn WGCA All-American Scholar honors three times.  Seven different Camels have claimed the award since 2011.

"These four young ladies define the term student-athlete," said Campbell head coach John Crooks.  "They take enormous pride in being successful in the classroom and on the golf course.  I am so proud the Women's Golf Coaches Association recognized their outstanding achievements."

Additionally, all six members of the 2017-18 team – Desiree Andersson, Ekstrom, Ayelen Irizar, Sjoholm, Svanka and White – earned Big South Conference Presidential Honor Roll status by recording at least a 3.0 GPA during the academic year.

The 2017 and 2018 Big South Women's Golfer of the year, Sjoholm earned Big South all-conference status for the third-consecutive year as well as gaining a spot on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll for the fourth-straight season.  She led the Big South with a 73.25 stroke average (second-lowest in school history) and six top-10 performances on the year, including a runner-up finish at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic.  Nationally, Sjoholm topped the country with an .800 greens in regulation percentage and finished No.-212 in the final Golfstat individual ranking.

Sjoholm concluded her career with a 74.23 stroke average, the best mark in the 29-year history of the program, 15 top-10 individual finishes (tied for 14th) over 105 rounds.

Svanka compiled a 75.37 stroke average over seven events and tied for 13th at the Big South Championship, her second-straight top-15 effort at the league tournament. A three-time Big South Presidential Honor Roll member, Svanka recorded the low round (71) of the event in a dual match win over Radford at The Patriot Golf Club.

White played in all 12 events during the 2017-18 season and was named to the Big South all-conference, all-championship and all-academic teams.  She earned her first collegiate victory at the UNCG Starmount Forest Fall Classic (72-72-69—213), one of five top-10 showings on the year.  Campbell's lowest individual at the NCAA Madison Regional, where she tied for 11th (71-71-73—215), White was runner-up at the Big South Championship (73-71-72—216).  She finished No.-139 nationally in the final Golfstat individual rankings, tied for 10th in eagles (5), was 28th in birdies (110) and 13th in both fairway (.859) and greens in regulation (.719) percentage.

White's 73.38 stroke average was second among Big South golfers and the third-lowest in a season in program history. Her career scoring average (74.37) is second only to Sjoholm in CU women's record books.

The Big South Conference individual champion (73-70-70—213), Ekstrom ranked fourth among league golfers with a 74.06 scoring average while producing four top-10 finishes.  She tied for medalist honors at the Amelia Island Collegiate (69-72-71—212) and was named to the Big South all-conference and all-freshman teams. Ekstrom's stroke average is eight-lowest in school history and best-ever among Campbell freshmen.

Coach Crooks' 27th Fighting Camel team concluded another historic season with its 15th conference title and 21st NCAA post-season appearance.  The NGCA Hall of Fame coach guided his team to four tournament wins – the UNCG Starmount Forest Fall Classic, Amelia Island Collegiate, River Landing Classic and Big South Championship – and a seventh-consecutive trip to regional competition.
