Camels set for City of Oaks Collegiate

54-hole event starts Sunday at Lonnie Poole GC in Raleigh

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell continues its spring schedule on Sunday with the City of Oaks Collegiate, hosted by NC State at Lonnie Poole Golf Club.

The Camels will compete in a 13-team field that includes host and 44th-ranked NC State along with fellow ACC member Boston College.

Following Saturday's practice round, the 54-hole event begins Sunday with the opening round on the Arnold Palmer design.  Play continues Monday before concluding with Tuesday's final round on the par-72 layout that will play to 6181 yards.

The Camels are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Gators Invitational in a field that included six teams ranked among the nation's top 50.  Fanni Gronlund (74-73-69—216, +6) was CU's low individual at T19.

At last year's City of Oaks Collegiate, only East Carolina (291-296-299—886) finished ahead of the Camels (306-297-300—903), who were eight shots better than host and 41st-ranked NC State (312-299-300—911) in the 17-team field.  Gronlund (79-71-76—226), who tied for 11th and Jade Potter (80-80-72—232), who tied for 22nd, return from last year's Campbell lineup.

Head coach John Crooks and associate head coach Val Patino will take a lineup to Gainesville that includes seniors Isabella Hahne and Izabella Grimbrandt, junior Jade Potter, sophomore Fanni Gronlund and freshman Linn Svedlund.

Campbell will be paired with Richmond and Georgetown for Sunday's first round and start from the first tee at 8:00 a.m.
