Campbell secures 4-3 win against Coastal Carolina

Box Score CONWAY, S.C.-The Campbell Women's Tennis team continued their spring season today as they traveled to Conway, South Carolina to play Coastal Carolina. The Camels bounced back from last weekend's loss to Drexel and VCU with a 4-3 win to beat Coastal in Coastal's first match of their 2019 season.

Campbell doubles duo Ana Castillo and Isabel Boada paired to kick off the day but fell to Coastal Carolina pair Somer Dolla-Bona and Jennifer Brown in a 6-1 decision. Following, the Camels took the lead when Alexandra Nicoara and Lea Cutura paired off to beat Coastal's Victorija Demcenkova and Alexa Tiefel 6-4. CU took the final doubles matchup when Campbell's Lucile Pons and Pauline Roustan claimed a doubles 6-3 win against Coastal's pair Jessie Mount and Maria Khomchenko.

Campbell later went on to win 3 singles matchups against the Chanticleers. Pons, who posted an overall 2-0 record for the day, defeated Coastal's Alicja Zduniak with a 6-4, 6-1 decision. Cutura also posted a 2-0 overall record for today's match and secured a singles point for the Camels when she beat Jessie Mount 6-1, 6-4. Castillo also claimed a singles matchup when she beat Demcenkova in a final 6-0, 6-1 decision.

NEXT MATCH: Campbell will head to Raleigh, North Carolina to play NC State on February 1. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
