Essence Martins claimed her singles flight as Campbell closed out action at the NCCU Invitational over the weekend.

On Thursday, Martins won against NCCU Ivana Dragovic 6-4, 6-2. Moving into Friday, Essence Martin received a victory against ECU Sofia Anthony, 6-4, 6-1 beofre claiming a finals win over NC A&T's Jaimy Loksochus 6-4, 6-0.

Martins also paired with Ciara O' Toole in the double play where the duo finish with a 2-1 record.

In the quarterfinal round the pair competed against Davidson's Gladstone and Heidescheit, where they tabbed a 6-3 win.

The duo progressed against NCCU and UNCW combo pair Hovat and Dubis- Rebiere, defeating them 6-0. The duo advanced to the finals where they dropped the final decision.

In singles consolation play, Lucile Pons claimed her flight with a pair of wins. Pons tabbed a 6-3, 6-4 two set victory over Hannah Gaines from North Carolina Central before claiming the flight with a 6-3, 6-3 win over East Carolina's Victoria Dixon.

Campbell closes out the fall season at the UNCW Invitational November 1-2.
