HIGH POINT, N.C. — Campbell University volleyball dropped a three-set decision to the High Point Panthers on Saturday afternoon inside the Millis Center.
The loss was Campbell's first Big South setback of the season, dropping its conference record to 2-1 and overall record to 8-8. High Point improved to 3-0 in conference action and 10-8 overall.
Lailah Green and Allena Heath led the Campbell offense, recording six and five kills, respectively. Madee Miner helped pace the offense with nine assists; Emily Mitter added nine assists.
Defensively, Elyse Gross finished with a team-high 18 digs while Ananda Patterson had four assisted blocks.
High Point outhit the Camels .250 to .081, led by Annie Sullivan's match-high 12 kills across 21 attacks. Mackenzi Thornburg dished out a match-high 18 assists.
The Fighting Camels return to Buies Creek for their conference home opener Friday, Oct. 11 to host USC Upstate for a 7 p.m. first serve. The following day, Oct. 12, Campbell faces UNC Asheville at 2 p.m.
