LYNCHBURG, Va. — Campbell University swimming completed day three of the TYR '85 Invite hosted by Liberty University at the Liberty Natatorium.
Maggie Whitman earned Campbell's highest finish in the 1650 free finals, taking 18th place with a time of 17:39.55, while Kelsey Tunstall followed her in the 200 back finals, with a 2:05.29 showing, good for 17th place overall.
In the 100 free finals, Annie Sanchez, Sarah Wilson and Colleen Renshaw finished within the top-10, taking fifth place (50.95), sixth place (51.46) and eighth place (51.53), respectively.
Angelica Brown finished 25th in the 200 breast finals, turning in a mark of 2:25.99.
Campbell earned another top-10 individual finish when Maddie Baiotto took sixth place in the 200 fly finals, swimming a time of 2:03.34. Whitman (14th, 2:06.54), Ashlyn Palmer (15th, 2:06.67), Skyler DeWall (19th, 2:06.06) and Lauren Shoemaker (20th, 2:06.69) also earned top-20 finishes in the 200 fly.
The 400-free relay squad of Sanchez, Renshaw, Neringa Cerniauskaite and Wilson, earned third place, collectively swimming a time of 3:24.27, just 0.06 seconds from setting a new program record.
Campbell finished seventh overall in the nine-team meet with 894 points, besting North Florida's 655.5 points and St. Francis' 507 points. Navy took the team title at 2,240 points, followed by Duquesne (1,481.5) and Vanderbilt (1439.5).
The Camels will take a month-long break from meet action as they prepare to host Vanderbilt on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at 11 a.m.
