BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Campbell University volleyball dropped a 3-0 (19-25, 16-25, 15-25) contest to High Point in a Big South Conference match Friday night inside Gilbert Craig Gore Arena.
The Fighting Camels dropped to 7-4 in conference play with the loss and 13-11 overall, while the Panthers improved to 18-10 and 10-1 against league opponents.
Campbell was held to just 25 kills in the match, putting down 13 in the first set before six kills in both the second and third sets. Sarah Colla had a team-high eight kills while both Allena Heath and Melody Paige added five kills.
Madee Miner finished one dig shy of a double-double, collecting nine digs along with 10 assists. Emily Mitter helped Miner pace the offense with nine assists. Elyse Gross finished with 10 digs to lead the Campbell defense.
High Point had two Panthers – Megan Kratzer and Annie Sullivan – finished with 10 kills in the win. The Panther hit a combined .287 in the match while the Fighting Camels posted a .068 attacking percentage.
Campbell concludes its five-match homestand by hosting Radford Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. first serve. Before the match, the Fighting Camels will honor their lone senior, Allena Heath, as part of CU's annual Senior Day.
