ELON, NC ­- Elon claimed the doubles point and the first four singles points to defeat Campbell 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
 
Bastien Huon tabbed a singles win with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) singles victory. His win improved his singles record to 2-1 at No. 3 and overall.
 
Gerard Sola and Louis Monterosso dropped their doubles matchup to Dino Bonetta and Mario Paccini 6-4 to open doubles action. Dustin Werner and Raphael Calzi dropped the doubles point with a 6-3 decision to Taylor Foote and Felipe Sarrasague.
 
Elon (4-1) followed by claiming wins on courts four and five before Jacob Bicknell clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Ted Williams at No. 6.
 
Dustin Werner was the only other Campbell (1-3) player to push a matchup to three sets. The senior dropped the first set 6-3 before coming back to claim the second 7-5. He eventually fell 1-0 (10-5) to close out the matchup.
 
Campbell returns to action on Saturday when the Camels host Elon for their home opener. Campbell has not lost at home since last February and has won seven of its last eight at home dating back to April 12, 2017.
