BLACKSBURG, VA. – Host Radford won the doubles point and two 3-set singles matches to claim a 4-2 triumph over second-seeded Campbell in the Big South Conference men's tennis championship match at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
 
For the second-straight day, play was moved indoors to the Virginia Tech campus because of inclimate weather in Southwest Virginia.
 
Fifth-seeded Radford (17-6) knocked off fourth seed Presbyterian, top seed Gardner-Webb and the defending champion Camels (16-6) to earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA regionals.
 
Caldwell and Michiel Meekers earned a 7-5 triumph at the second position to give the Highlanders the doubles point.  The Radford pair also provided the deciding singles victories to secure the title.
 
Campbell, which shared the regular season title with Gardner-Webb, was playing in its third-straight Big South final and for the fifth time in six years.
 
Dustin Werner defeated Radford's Yevhen Sirous 7-5, 6-2 at the number-one singles position and finished 3-0 at the top spot in the tourney.  Ondrej Labik also won in straight-sets at the fifth position.
