Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Last second goal lifts Coastal over Camels

Only four seconds left with lone goal scored

CONWAY, S.C. – Tsiki Ntsabeleng scored with four seconds remaining in regulation to lift No.-27 Coastal Carolina to a 1-0 victory over Campbell Tuesday night at the CCU Soccer Stadium.

The Chanticleers (3-2) halted a two-match losing streak in their home opener and dealt Campbell (3-2-1) its first loss since the season opener.

In the final 10 seconds, Campbell's Bissafi Dotte was whistled for a foul near midfield and issued a yellow card.  On the restart, Coastal keeper Albert Ciroi sent a long serve that landed in the box and the Sun Belt preseason offensive player of the year Ntsabeleng won the scramble to score his first goal of the season.

The finish capped a second period in which both teams hit the woodwork, but neither was able to score until the final play of the match.

Coastal's DZ Harmon hit the left post in the 67th minute, while Campbell's Alex Egeonu connected on a header that bounded wide off the left post just four minutes later.

Campbell finished with a 9-7 advantage on shots, but none were on goal.  The Camels saw their shutout string end just four seconds shy of 460 minutes and their unbeaten string stopped at four matches.

"It's a tough one to take because the guys' application of the game plan was excellent and their effort was never in question," said Campbell head coach Dustin Fonder.  "It's a tough pill to swallow, but we've got to get ready for the next game on our schedule.  Our guys did everything they could; we just didn't get the result we wanted."

In the 11th minute, Camel keeper Samuel Lechuga made back-to-back saves in the box to keep the match scoreless.

The Camels appeared to take the lead after 15 minutes, but Thibaut Jacquel was ruled to be in an offside position when he scored off Matt Lock's serve.

Headers from Jacquel in the 22nd minute and from Alex Egeonu in the 31st narrowly missed just wide of Albert Ciroi's net.

Less than seven minutes into the second half, Alemu Mercer-Miko squared a pass along the face of the Coastal goal, but Adrian Morales got just under the connection and his shot sailed over the cross bar.

The Camels return to action Saturday in a 7 p.m. start at Georgia Southern.
