BOULDER, Colo. — The Colorado Buffaloes swept the Campbell Fighting Camels in three straight sets in the Colorado Classic finale Saturday night at the CU Events Center.
The loss dropped Campbell to an even 6-6, while Colorado improved to 8-2.
Sarah Colla again led the Fighting Camels offensively, recording 10 kills. Allena Heath and Melody Paige each added four kills.
Emily Mitter dished out nine assists while Madee Miner had eight assists. Elyse Gross led the defense with nine digs; Grace Kane had seven digs.
After being outscored 25-10 and 25-14 in the first two sets, Campbell held a late 19-18 advantage in the third set; however, the Buffaloes sealed the set and the match with a 7-1 run to win the set three, 25-20.
The Fighting Camels return to North Carolina to face ECU next Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Greenville at 7 p.m. That following Saturday, Campbell opens Big South play at Hampton with a 2 p.m. first serve.
