Lockwood nets two, Camels top Peacocks, 3-0

JERSEY CITY, NJ - Katie Lockwood scored a pair of goals and Ashleigh Harris added another as Campbell picked up its third straight win with a 3-0 decision at St. Peter's Sunday afternoon.

Lockwood scored her third and fourth goals in two games in route to victory to push her season total to a team leading five while Jessica Donald added her third and fourth assists on the year.

The Huddersfield, U.K. native opened the scoring line by taking a pass from Jessica Donald who played the ball up into the box where Lockwood chipped the ball over the keepers head for the score in the 60th minute.

Just 10 minutes later, Donald fed the senior again on a cross from the far side into the box. Lockwood took the feed and finished past the diving keeper.

"This weekend was good for us to get some experience in different environments against opponents that require us to adapt, said Campbell head coach Samar Azem. "I thought our team adapted really well, and that's an important part of refining our game."

In her fifth career start, sophomore Reaghan Duval tallied her second solo shutout by recording four saves. The Waxhaw, N.C. native has now not surrendered a goal over 330 minutes of action.

"I thought our backs deserve credit for getting two shutouts on the weekend as well."

Rookie Ashleigh Harris sealed the scoring line with her second goal of the season and her second in two games in the 85th minute. The Vista, Calif. native took the feed tandem assist from Sydney Towns and Taryn Phillips to weave through traffic for the score.

"We had a lot of players step up for us off the bench today and we are very proud of them," continued Azem. "It's great to see our team score goals and Katie did very well in front of net. Jess was exceptional and great to see Ashleigh get another."

Across the 90 minute span the Camels were able to control the ball on their attacking end and tallied an 11-4 shots on goal advantage.

Campbell closes out its three game road swing on Thursday night at Charlotte for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
