BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Winners of four-straight, Big South Conference league leader Campbell heads to Presbyterian Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
The 6-1 start in Big South play for Campbell sits just one win shy of coach Ronny Fisher's first season when his Camels started league play with a 7-1 ledger.
The Camels, who feature a balanced scoring attack, are led by Shy Tuelle who is averaging 10.3 points per game this season and 10.0 points in conference play. Part of he sophomore's success comes from behind the arc where she ranks second in the Big South in 3-point field goal percentage (.375).
Despite only having one player tallying double-digit scoring numbers, the Camels sport third pride of the defensive end where they rank 5th nationally in scoring defense allowing just 51.3 points per game and just 35.2 percent shooting from the field which ranks 25th nationally - both marks lead the Big South Conference.
Presbyterian, who is coming off its first conference win, is also led by a one double-digit scorer attack in Trinity Johnson who is averaging 14.9 points per contest.Â
Most recently ten different players scored for Campbell and it held Winthrop to just 33 percent shooting to clinch a 63-47 win at home.Â
Taya Bolden led all scorers with 11 points while Hayley Barber, Ashlyn Hampton and Kianna Speight all added eight for the Camels who never trailed.
Following Saturday's contest, Campbell returns home to host Charleston Southern on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
