COLUMBIA, S.C. – Patience Marshall set another shot put school record and made Big South history as the Camels wrapped up competition at the Gamecock Opener.
Marshall topped her own shot put school record of 14.32m, set last week at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge, by measuring a distance of 15.75m today. Marshall's mark ranks second all-time in Big South history behind Liberty's Mychelle Cumings mark of 16.29m set at the 2014 Big South Championships.
Campbell's distance medley relay teams enjoyed success on the track as all three claimed podium finishes. The men's first DMR team comprised of
Rievan Lombard,
Graeme Fisher,
Laderique McNeill, and
Athanas Kioko finished first with a time of 10:06.27. The men's second team of
Hunter Gilbert,
Tyler Dollhausen,
Pace Clark and
Dennis Kiptoo took third in the event finishing in 10:18.86.
The women's DMR team featuring
Madeline Fitch,
Madeline Mayfield,
Madelyn Rodriguez and
Lize Botha took second-place after the squad finished in 12:16.68.
