BUIES CREEK, NC - Under the direction of first year head coach
Mike Stevens, the Campbell women's tennis team opens the 2020 spring season Sunday against Tennessee State followed by a date with Belmont on Monday.
Both matchups are set to start at 10:00 a.m., respectively, and are both being held in Nashville, Tenn. Updates can be followed on twitter - @GoCamelsTennis.
"The ladies had an excellent fall season and have been working hard since the fall getting ready for this opening weekend of matches," said Stevens who enters his first season with the Camels riding 24 years of Division-1 experience. "We are all looking forward to an exciting season."
Campbell returns seven of its nine players from last season and are headed by a five seniors in
Lea Cutura,
Huda McGraw,
Alexandra Nicoara,
Lucile Pons and
Lou Regen.
Last season,
Ana Castillo tabbed First Team All-Big South honors in both singles and doubles alongside partner
Lou Regen who also garnered second team honors for singles action.
Also joining the returners is the sole sophomore of the squad
Inma Ramon. She is joined by two newcomers
Ciara O'Toole (Dublin, Ireland) and
Essence Martins (London England).
Following action in Nashville, Campbell head to Appalachian State Saturday, February 1 before its home opener against North Carolina Central on February 6.
