BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Seeking its best start at home since the 1997-98 season, Big South leading Campbell welcomes Charleston Southern to Gore Arena Tuesday night for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
With one more home win at home the Camels (8-0) could post its best home start since the 1997-98 season when Campbell started 12-0 at home.Â
The first 200 Campbell students in attendance will receive a free mini-hoop with a valid Campbell ID. Tickets can be purchased at GoCamels.com. Fans who cannot make the game can watch on ESPN+ or follow along through live stats or on twitter - @GoCamelsWBB.Â
Campbell, who ranks fifth nationally in scoring defense by allowing just 51.1 points per game, is coming off a 53-47 win at Presbyterian to secure the Camels' fifth straight win and keep them at the top of the Big South standings.
Against PC, Kianna Speight knocked down a career-high eight three-pointers to finish with 24 points. Speight recorded just three points shy of her career-high which she set during her time at Davidson against St. Bonaventure. Hayley Barber followed with 13 points and Luana Serranho nine.
Charleston Southern, who is coming off a 64-59 loss against Hampton, is led by a pair of double-digit scorers in Tierra Steede (12.3 ppg) and Carmella Walker (11.3 ppg) while Campbell does not have a double-digit scorer rather a balanced offensive attack headed by Shy Tulle (9.8 ppg).
Campbell leads the all-time series 34-6 including a 14-2 mark at home. Last season the Camels swept all three games including a 55-44 win in the Big South Tournament semifinals.
Following Tuesday's contest, Campbell will enjoy its stagnant weekend before traveling to defending league champs Radford on Tuesday, January 28.Â
