Camels host Charlotte on Friday

Campbell looks for third straight win

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell women's basketball returns to Gore Arena for its second home game of the season against in-state Charlotte on Friday at 3 PM on ESPN+.

Campbell (2-1) is seeking its third straight win and first win at home while Charlotte (0-4) looks to overcome its winless start to the season.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Campbell defeated UNC Greensboro in a defensive-battle last Tuesday evening on the road
  • The Fighting Camels entered the third quarter trailing 33-24 but stormed back, outscoring the Spartans 18-5 in the fourth
  • Taya Bolden continued her excellent play, recording her second double-double on the season with 12 points and 13 boards. 
  • Bolden tied the game on a layup with 7 seconds remaining before a technical foul on UNCG sent Campbell to the line where it took the lead
  • Brittany Staves came off the bench in the fourth quarter to help fuel the comeback by adding 8 points in the period 
  • Campbell held UNCG to 31.3% shooting from the field marking the third time this season an opponent has shot under 33%
