LYNCHBURG, Va. - Campbell wrapped up the first day at the Darius Dixon Memorial Classic hosted by Liberty as seven Camels competed in the weight throw event.

Caitlyn Vester recorded a 14.79m (48' 6.25") mark on her last throw in the women's weight throw. Vester's mark put her ahead of teammates Jenna Dankert (14.56m / 47' 9.25"), Joy Gerow (14.35m / 47' 1.00") and Samantha Ennis (13.62m / 44' 8.25").

The Campbell men were led by Andrew Ward and his mark of 14.86m (48' 9.00"). Dranton McClain (14.01m / 45' 11.75") and freshman Timon Edelen (12.43m / 40' 9.50") rounded out competition in the weight throw for the Camels.
