BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Coming off its first loss since January 4th, Campbell looks to bounce back Tuesday at Winthrop.
Campbell enters Tuesday;s contest with a perfect 7-0 record on Tuesday's including a 5-0 mark in league play.
In the first meeting between the two teams this season, Ten different players scored for Campbell and it held Winthrop to just 33 percent shooting to clinch a 63-47 win.
Taya Bolden led all scorers with 11 points while Hayley Barber, Ashlyn Hampton and Kianna Speight all added eight for the Camels (11-5, 6-1 Big South) who never trailed.
The Eagles made a push early in the third period by generating an 8-0 spurt to cut the Campbell lead to 18 points, 50-22, with 4:47 remaining in the quarter but Campbell responded by pushing its lead back up to 29 later in the quarter with 38 ticks on the clock, its largest of the game.
Campbell, who ranks third nationally in scoring defense by allowing just 51.0 points per game, is coming off a 48-42 loss to Radford.
Taya Bolden scored 11 points and Hayley Barber added 10 for the Camels (17-6, 11-2 Big South) who shot just 28.8 percent from the floor to mark the second-lowest shooting outing of the season and the lowest mark in Big South play this season.
Radford, who has lost two straight and four of its last five, is led by Jah;che Whitfield (11.6 ppg) and Destinee Jamison-Whitfield (11.6 ppg). The two combined for just 16 points in the first meeting against Campbell on January 14.
Campbell returns home Saturday to host Longwood at 2:00 p.m.
