Camels seek 20 win plateau at Charleston Southern

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Looking to reach 20 wins for the third time in four seasons, Campbell travels to Charleston Southern Tuesday to take on Charleston Southern.

The matchup between the Camels (19-6, 14-2 Big South) and the Bucs (4-21, 2-14 Big South) can be watched through ESPN+ or listened to live with Evan Budrovich on the call through the Campbell Digital Network. The game can also be followed through live stats or on twitter - @GoCamelsWBB.

Campbell, with four regular season games left on the docket, is chasing 20 wins for the eighth time in program history. With a win Tuesday, the Camels would tie the fourth fastest season to reach the tally (26 games). CU's fastest season reaching the 20 win column was in 1988 when the Camels got to 20 in 24 games

In the first meeting between the two teams this season, Serranho matched her career-high in points (19) on 7-of-12 shooting including a 5-of-9 mark from beyond the arc to pair with six boards to push CU to a 61-36 win inside Gore Arena.

Campbell, who never trailed, pushed its lead to as many as 27 on a three pointer from Shy Tuelle with 2:52 to play in the final period.

The Buccaneers cut the Campbell lead back to 15 in the final period on a triple from Tori Gittens with 6:09 left to play but could not inch any closer.

Campbell, who ranks fourth nationally in scoring defense by allowing just 52.3 points per game, is coming off an 81-76 win over Longwood where the Camels surpassed the most Big South wins in program history.

Taya Bolden recorded her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Kianna Speight added 17 to secure the win for the Camels who led by as many as eight points.

The Camels, who have not lost on Tuesday this season, can tie a program record for wins in a season by winning out over its final four games. CU matched the 23 win record last season.

CSU most recently broke a nine-game losing streak with a 56-54 win over UNC Asheville.

Following Tuesday's contest, Campbell returns home to host Presbyterian as a part of senior day. Tickets for the 2:00 tip-off can be purchased here.
