WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Campbell track & field wrapped up the first day of the Camel City Invite at the JDL Fast Track.
Nascha Blue set a new personal record in the women's 60 meter hurdles, blazing in the preliminary round with a time of 8.83. Blue qualified for the finals where she ran a 9.07 to place fifth overall.
In distance events Lize Botha shaved nearly a minute off her personal best in the women's 5000 meters, setting a new record time of 18:04.47. Hunter Gilbert also set a new personal record in the men's 5000 meters, finishing in 15:09.02.
Shanley Koekemoer placed sixth overall in the women's 3000 meters after finishing in 9:46.85 while junior college transfer Lesego Mpshe set a new personal record in her Campbell debut with a 10:18.09 time.

Campbell returns to the Camel City Invite for day two while a small group of throwers take the trip up to the Doc Hale Elite Meet to compete in men's and women's shot put events against some of the best in the region.
