ROCK HILL, S.C. - Campbell snapped a four match win streak Saturday afternoon falling to Winthrop 4-3.
The match came down to the final court to finish at No. 1 where Alisa Soloveva clinched the win for the Eagles (3-7, 2-1 Big South).
The Eagles clinched the doubles point to go up 1-0 before the Camels won two straight singles matchups to retake the lead 2-1.
Lucile Pons opened singles action with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4 before
Inma Ramon tabbed a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 6.
After a Winthrop win at No. 2 to even the match, 2-2,
Lou Regen won 6-2, 6-4 to retake the 3-2 lead for the Camels (9-3, 3-1 Big South).
Winthrop followed with a pair of wins to clinch the match.
Campbell returns to action at home on Thursday against South Carolina State at 2:00 p.m.
