BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University Athletics is proud to announce the revamped Fighting Camel Club focusing on unrestricted annual fund gifts in support of the CU student-athlete experience. The Fighting Camel Club will house two new components, the Athletics Excellence Fund and a priority points system.
The Athletics Excellence Fund will primarily focus on unrestricted giving in support of department-wide strategic initiatives to deliver extraordinary student-athlete experiences that include facility enhancements, experiences abroad, summer school, sports performance, health and wellness, career and professional development, recruiting and retaining great coaches, and overall student-athlete support.
"This new excellence fund will provide enhanced support to our sport programs and athletic department, which will allow our student-athletes continued opportunities for ascent toward conference championships and national competitive achievements." said athletic director
Omar Banks. "We aspire to win conference championships, which provide the gateway to regional and national exposure and recognition, and ultimately compete for and win a national championship, and support from our dedicated constituents is key to achieving this aim."
All unrestricted gifts to the Athletics Excellence Fund will earn donors membership into the Fighting Camel Club, broadening the Club's long-term mission. Additionally, the new Fighting Camel Club will institute a new priority points system, allowing members the first opportunity to purchase season tickets, travel packages, NCAA Tournament passes and other upgraded game experiences.
"The priority points system will help streamline the customer service from our ticket office and allow us to create new and exciting opportunities for our donors," said
Ricky Ray, deputy athletic director. "We look forward to growing our engagement and outreach with our fans."
Fighting Camel Club membership is open to anyone with a minimum annual contribution of $100, through the purchase of season tickets, or providing a major gift towards a facility project. Any gifts made during the current fiscal year (since June 1, 2020) have automatic enrollment into the new Club structure.

Over the last decade, Campbell has also been able to dramatically improve its facilities, with the construction of Jim Perry Stadium (Baseball) and the Irwin Belk Track Complex (Track & Field), plus major renovations at Barker-Lane Stadium (Football), the Pope Convocation Center (Basketball, Volleyball), Amanda Littlejohn Stadium (Softball) and the Eakes Athletic Complex (Soccer).
