BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Featuring six home dates and a newly expanded full Big South slate, Campbell has released its 2022 women's lacrosse schedule.
The Camels will be on the road for the first month of the 2022 season, with its first five contests away from Buies Creek. CU opens the season at Stetson on February 12 before heading to in-state nonconference foes Davidson on February 23 and Elon on March 2.
Old Dominion will host the Camels on March 5. Two days later, Campbell will wrap up a three games in six days stretch, travelling to Baltimore, Md. for a neutral site matchup against Bucknell, played at Tierney Field, on the grounds of US Lacrosse national headquarters in Sparks, Md.
Campbell will make its home debut on March 19, taking on William & Mary. The Camels will wrap up their nonconference schedule on March 23, welcoming East Carolina to Barker-Lane Stadium.
Jumping into its conference slate on March 30, Campbell will travel to High Point, winners of four-consecutive Big South titles. Three of CU's first four Big South matchups will come on the road, hosting Winthrop on April 2 before traveling to Radford on April 6 and Longwood on April 9.
The Camels return home on April 13, hosting Gardner-Webb. Three of the team's final four outings will come against
Big South newcomers, heading to Wofford on April 16, hosting Furman on April 23 in its last home appearance, and traveling to Mercer for their regular season finale on April 27.
Campbell will also host Presbyterian on April 20.
The Big South Championship is set to begin on April 30, with semifinal and final dates on May 6 and 8.
The Camels finished the 2021 season at 8-7 overall and 5-1 in Big South play, finishing the regular season with wins in five of its final six outings, earning the No. 2 seed in the Big South tournament and matching their highest seeding in program history (2017).
In addition to Campbell's 10 school records set in 2021, seven Camels, another program record, were named to the
Big South's All-Conference teams.
