BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell will kick off the 2021 season on Saturday, February 13, hosting Elon at 1:00 p.m. at Barker-Lane Stadium.

The game will be the first of seven home dates for the Camels for the year, including four nonconference and three Big South contests for eighth year head coach
Dawn Easley.
The Camels bring back 27 letterwinners, including 10 starters from the abbreviated 2020 season, welcoming nine newcomers to the fold. Campbell went 2-7 through a challenging 2020 nonconference slate, winning its finale 17-9 over Delaware State.
Previewing the 2021 Camels
Campbell was picked second in the 2021 Big South Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, with three Camels earning Preseason All-Big South honors. Third year Camels
Annie Ryan, a junior defender, and
Julianna Sanchez, a redshirt sophomore attacker, along with redshirt senior goalie
Alex Salim all made the 14-member preseason all-conference squad.
Ryan started all nine games for the Camels on the defensive end as a sophomore in 2020, leading the team with 22 ground balls while adding 12 caused turnovers.
Sanchez was a two-time Big South Freshman of the Week in 2020, her first season on the field for the Camels after missing 2019 due to an injury. An Annapolis, Md. native, Sanchez led CU with 22 goals, totaling 24 points, adding eight ground balls, 27 draw controls and two caused turnovers.
In her first season as Campbell's full-time starter in goal, Salim led the NCAA in total saves with 108, also ranking sixth in the country in saves per game at 12.0, and 29th nationally in save percentage at .480.
Scouting Elon
Elon went 3-2 during the shortened 2020 campaign, falling to Delaware 12-11 in overtime to open CAA play before the season was suspended. The Phoenix were picked second in the south division behind James Madison in the CAA Preseason Poll.
Mae McGlynn and Gillian Curran, both preseason all-conference selections, return to lead Elon in 2021. McGlynn, named Preseason All-CAA, made three starts in the team's five games in 2020, leading the team in both goals (10) and points (14) in addition to ranking second in assists (4).
Curran was tabbed honorable mention, posting a team-best 21 draw controls with six ground balls.
The Phoenix are 3-1 all-time against CU, taking
last year's meeting to open the season 12-5.
Campbell attendance policy update
Recently announced by Campbell Athletics, a limited number of Campbell students and faculty/staff only will be allowed at each outdoor home event, including lacrosse.
The attendance policy, in effect until further notice, will still require fans to wear a mask and follow social distancing protocols as dictated by
Campbell University policy. A reservation link for each game will be available at
GoCamels.com. No one will be admitted without reserving a seat and presenting a valid Campbell ID.

Fan cutouts are now available for all of our teams competing at home in the Spring 2021 semester – Basketball, Lacrosse, Tennis, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer.
All fan cutouts are priced at $50. As we prepare for a season unlike any other, put on your favorite Camel gear, take a picture and submit, then order your fan cutout so that you can be represented on home game days!
Fans who purchase cutouts will get the chance to take them home at the end of the season.
