WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Shanley Koekemoer, highlighted the Camels day at the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track as she set a new indoor school record in the women's mile running a blistering 4:49.10. This broke the 19-year-old record of 4:52.23 set by Heather Lee in 2002.
Sophomore
Naelee Stone won the women's 60m dash, with a time of 7.64, closely followed by teammate
Ryan Jackson who finished third with a time of 7.82.
In the men's 60m dash Campbell's
Reggie Barlow would find the podium finishing second in a time of 6.85.
More medals would come when
Jaden Jenkins posted a personal best 8.07 time in the 60m hurdles to finish second overall.
Athanas Kioko and
Travis Koekemoer would take part in the elite section of the men's mile and put on a solid performance. Kioko ran just shy of his personal best that he set last week, as he ran a 4:02.84, followed by Koekemoer who ran a 4:06.36
BLACKSBURG, VA. - Campbell track & field had an impressive showing in Virginia at the Virginia Tech Challenge, with three out of four competing athletes earning podium finishes.
Patience Marshall earned another first-place finish in the women's shot put, with a throw of 15.54m. This marks the junior's third podium finish and second consecutive week atop of the podium in the shot put.
Andre Douglas continued his impressive freshman year at Campbell, winning the men's triple jump for the fourth time this season in just as many meets. The Jamaican won the event with a jump of 15.55m.
In the women's triple jump, senior
Hailey Huston Myles earned a third-place finish with a mark of 12.09m.
C.J. McBride set a new collegiate best in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.11m which was good enough for fourth place at the meet. The mark puts him atop the Big South Conference so far this season.
