BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Camels split games two and three of their four-game series with Eastern Kentucky today, taking the first 8-0 (5 inn.) and dropping the second 3-2.
After today, Campbell moves to 4-3 on the season while EKU moves to 6-3.
Game One - Campbell 8, Eastern Kentucky 0
Georgeanna Barefoot got the start and the win in the circle for the Camels, shutting out the Colonels only giving up one hit in five innings pitched with four strikeouts.
Barefoot, had no shortage of support from the offense which provided eight runs starting with an RBI single from the team leader in that category

After walking to lead off the second inning,
Sterling Hairston would score from first on an off the wall double to left center from
Morgan Rios, doubling the lead to 2-0.
The Camels would lead 5-0 after the third, thanks to a
Noemi Cortez RBI single and a bases-loaded double from Rios scoring two more runs.
The run-rule would be met in the fourth, as the Camels scored three more. Bryant would tally her second RBI of the game with a single to left field to push the lead to 6-0. Then the team leader in home runs
Kayla Fredendall took a 1-1 fastball over the wall for her third of the season, scoring two.
EKU was unable to find a run in the top of the fifth as Barefoot would strike out the final Colonel batter ending the game 8-0 in the fifth.
The Colonels' Bethany Todd took the loss pitching one and a third innings giving up four hits and two earned runs, striking out two. Jaelyn Sanders, pitched in relief allowing seven hits and six earned runs off seven hits with five strikeouts.
Game Two - Eastern Kentucky 3, Campbell 2
The Camels would cling to a slim 2-0 advantage for most of the game before giving up three runs over the last two innings, falling 3-2.
Campbell's two runs would come in the second inning, off a
Delaney McDilda triple down the right field line, which would score
Claire Blount and
Sterling Hairston.
The Colonels would tie the game in the top of the sixth scoring off reliever
Kayla Howald, as Vianna Barron doubled to left to score one, followed by an RBI single from Mollie Paulick, to tie the game at two.
EKU would get the eventual winning run in the top of the seventh, as Kara Gunter's single to left center scored Sammi Miller from second.
Claire Blount would come in for relief to get the final two outs of the inning.
Campbell would end the game going three up three down in the final frame.
EKU's Tori Peterson (2-0) got the win with a complete-game seven innings pitched, striking out two and only allowing two earned runs off five hits.
Megan Richards got the start for the Camels going five and a third innings giving up one earned run off five hits, striking out five.
Kayla Howald (1-3) took the loss, with two earned runs off five hits in one inning of work.
