Lynchburg Va. - Campbell's men's and women's track and field teams had an impressive outing Saturday at the Brant Tolsma Invitational hosted by Liberty University. The meet saw the Camels finish with 10 individual podium finishes, including four first-place finishes, a facility record, and a new school record.
On The Track
Freshman
Dominique Alexander, broke the school record in the 200m dash on his way to winning the event, posting a time of 21.17 seconds.
AthanasKioko and
Travis Koekemoer went 1-2 for the second meet in a row in the mile. Kioko set a new indoor facility record with a time of 4:02.76 breaking the previous record previously by Campbell's Amon Kemboi. Koekemoer set a new personal best in the discipline with his time of 4:03.65.
The Camels earned two podium finishes with
Reggie Barlow and
Samuel Adams finishing second and third respectively in the 60m dash with times of 6.83 seconds.
In the field
Success continued in the field for the Camels, as freshmen
Andre Douglas and
C.J. McBride finished first and second in the men's triple jump with Douglas' mark of 15.08m earning him the first-place finish.
McBride's performance would continue into the men's high jump as he would win the event by clearing 2.00m.Â
In the women's triple jump,
Hailey Huston Myles earned a third-place finish with a mark of 12.01m.
To finish the day,
Patience Marshall finished second in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.69m.
