Campbell hosts Winthrop in Big South quarterfinal

2nd-seeded Camels hold 8-2 record in last 10 games

BUIES CREEK - Campbell women's basketball returns to postseason play on Monday against Winthrop in the quarterfinal round of the Hercules Tires Big South Championships.

The Camels enter the Big South tournament as the 2nd-seed while Winthrop sits as the 7th-seed.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Campbell earned the 2nd seed in the Big South after sweeping UNC Asheville at home on March 2 & 3
  • Campbell controlled the glass in the first game, out-rebounding Asheville 49-29 as Lauren McNamara-Clement and Taya Bolden each had double-doubles in less than 20 minutes of playing in a 65-34 rout of the Bulldogs
  • The Camels mounted a late comeback in game two, outscoring the Bulldogs 7-2 in the final minute capped off by a Faith Price layup with less than two seconds to go to win 52-51
  • Luana Serranho provided a game-high 18 points in the second win of the series, making 3-of-4 shots from three
