HIGH POINT, N.C. - Dominique Alexander toppled two school records as Campbell track & field wrapped up day two of the Big South Championships at Vert Stadium.
After day two the Campbell women are in second place in the overall team standings while the men sit in third.
ON THE TRACK
Alexander punched his ticket to the 100m and 200m finals on Wednesday, simultaneously setting school records in both preliminary events. The freshman sprinter beat out his previous 100m record time after clocking in at 10.32 seconds, also marking the fourth fastest time in Big South history. Alexander then took the 200m school record after finishing in 20.86, also the fourth fastest time in Big South history.
Travis Koekemoer also broke the 3000m steeplechase school record as he claimed second overall in the event with a time of 8:57.42.
IN THE FIELD
Jenna Dankert started the day off earning second in the women's shot put behind a personal best mark of 13.92m (45' 8") while Samantha Ennis followed in fourth place with her mark of 13.65m (44' 9.5"). Dankert later took first overall in the javelin behind a throw of 40.45m (132' 8").
Hailey Huston Myles earned third overall in the long jump with a 5.78m (18' 11.75") mark.
