Camels place four on All-Southeast Region teams

Sets program record for most selection in a season

BUIES CREEK - After winning the Big South tournament title and earning a berth to the NCAA Championship, four Campbell women's soccer players have been named to the All-Southeast Region teams by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

Laney Peabody earned first-team honors, Jessica Donald earned second-team honors and Cazzi Norgren and Elyssa Nowowieski both received third-team honors. The Camels collectively set a new program record for most players named to the all-region team, besting last season (2019) that featured two selections.

Peabody, Donald, Norgren and Nowowieski led the Camels to an 8-4-1 overall record and its first Big South tournament title since 1993 and the Camels first appearance in the NCAA Championship since 2004.

"I am very proud of our team for all the accomplishments they've had this season," head coach Samar Azem stated. "For our players to be recognized on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region team is a testament to what they are capable of and what our team is capable of. The Southeast All-Region team has a distinguished list of players on it and I am proud to have our players on that list as they are deserving of it. We will continue to grow and develop our program regionally and nationally; this is a great start."
